The Theater Committee is looking for individuals who can volunteer as ushers for our theater performances. Ushers are asked to arrive one hour prior to the start of the performance and stay until the show closes. Ushers get to see the plays for free (unless the show is sold out). Ushers are also invited to attend the opening night receptions for the cast/crew following the first performance
OPPORTUNITY - \For a full list of plays, play descriptions, subscription and ticket information and all things Allens Lane Theater, we encourage you to look at our season listing here.
Each play that we produce will have 9 performances and we will need at least 2 to 3 volunteers for each play to act as ushers. This is where you come in. If you see a date (or dates) that work best for you to usher, pleaes let us know of your interest. We need ushers on Fridays and Saturdays to arrive no later than 6:45pm and 12:45pm on Sundays and report to Lisa in the box office for your assignment and training. There will be a House Manager on duty as well to help guide you through your experience. Of course, all volunteers get to stay and see the play for free!
Once you have selected the date(s) you will be available to volunteer, I ask that you please email me (email@example.com) with your name, your phone number and the date that you want. We will email you back with a confirmation of your request and then will put your name on our online volunteer calendar so that you can always confirm which date you are scheduled for (http://www.allenslane.org/volunteercalendar.htm )
Thank you and we very much look forward to seeing you at the Center this year.

Allens Lane Art Center is in need of volunteers to assist with our satellite gallery - The Lieberman Gallery - at the Germantown Branch at Settlement Music School, 6128 Germantown Ave., Philadelphia, PA. This gallery is dedicated to showing artwork from young and emerging local artists (about 7 exhibitions per year). The gallery director, Diane Connelly, is currently searching for volunteers to assist with working with local artists to mount exhibitions of their work (from September - June of each year). Exhibitions typically run for anywhere between a month to a month and a half. We need help with a variety of things including: exhibition installation (2D only), packing and unpacking of artwork (if necessary), administration of printed materials for each exhibition, social media archiving and marketing, and assistance during the gallery receptions (which occur during the school's recital schedule). The idea candidates will have a passion for the arts, flexible schedule, and an interest in helping support local artists. Interested volunteers are asked to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
