Improvisation (Improv) is a centuries-old art form specifically used in comedy. Join us for this fun and entertaining 3 week intensive class where we will learn about and practice the basics of beginning Short Form improv (as seen on the TV show Whose Line Is It Anyway?) Through interactive exercises and activities taught in this class, you will be able to experience and practice these basic comedy skills in a fun and supportive environment. Whether you are looking to try out a new creative outlet, become more confident on stage, improve your public speaking skills, or become a better comedic actor, this fun 3 week class is for you! Ages 18+

About the Instructor: Mariangela Saavedra

Mariangela Saavedra has been working in Theater for 27 years, in cities across the country such as Chicago, Washington DC, Wilmington North Carolina, and Philadelphia. She is the Founder and Artistic Director of Casabuena Cultural Productions, a community theater and film company based in Germantown/Mt Airy. She has worked for the Tony Award-winning Victory Gardens Theater in Chicago, The Kimmel Center here in Philadelphia and was the Director of Drama and Voice at Cape Fear School of the Arts in Wilmington. She taught theater classes at Allens Lane Art Center from 2016-2020, and has directed many plays on local stages such as Talk Radio, An Adult Evening of Shel Silverstein, I Hate Hamlet, On Golden Pond, and The Insanity of Mary Girard.
