Wheel Throwing (All Levels)
This class is designed for all levels, whether you’re new to clay or have previous experience. Students will learn the basics of the potter’s wheel, as well as the basics for handbuilding. Surface decorating techniques will include carving, slip painting, and glaze combining. Demonstrations and visual inspiration will be presented weekly. Group discussion and individual feedback will be provided. Bring your own ideas, or work along with the class with weekly projects.

About the Instructor: Irene Yoon
Irene fell into the clay 10 years ago at The Art School at Old Church in Demarest, NJ and has been wallowing there ever since. She received her MAT in the Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and her BS in Fine Arts and the Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing from The College of New Jersey where she taught clay workshops to both students and faculty. Irene has also instructed at The Art School at Old Church, Guttenberg Arts, and most recently, Springside Chestnut Hill Academy where she currently works as a Visual Arts Teacher.
