Development Associate

Allens Lane Art Center seeks a part-time Development Associate in assisting, facilitating and implementing most aspects of the organization’s fundraising programs. This person will work closely with the Executive Director to research, prepare and submit grant proposals, LOI's and reports to foundations, corporations, and government resources as well as maintain a yearly grants calendar. This position also works closely with Board of Directors, staff, donors, and volunteers to coordinate information, meetings, events, and processes to maximize philanthropic support and communication. Position requires confidentiality, discretion, diplomacy, and professional poise. In addition, this position may also assist in the planning and execution of some special events and fundraisers in coordination with the Development Committee, and at times serve as a representative of the organization at various meetings and events.

Applicant skills must include organization and attention to detail, excellent writing skills, strong computer skills, the ability to multi-task, be a self-starter who can work well in a deadline-driven environment. This position can be performed off-site but will have weekly meetings with the Executive Director and key staff. Bachelor’s degree, two years of grant writing experience and experience with nonprofit fundraising is required.
