Class Description: Learn the basics of painting with acrylics to achieve realistic and expressionist results. We’ll explore visual art fundamentals, like line, form, tone, volume, and color theory, through still life studies, copies of master paintings, and studies from photographs. This class will also focus on basic painting techniques like brush types, mixing color, blending and layering, and texturing, and blending. This class is for beginners and no previous painting experience is required.
Materials:
- Paint
- Titanium White (at least 8.5oz)
The following colors can be 2oz - Cadmium yellow medium (hue is ok)
- Cadmium red medium (hue is ok)
- Burnt sienna
- Raw umber
- Permanent green
- Prussian blue
- Ultramarine blue
- Mars or carbon black
- Titanium White (at least 8.5oz)
- Paper palette or plastic palette
- Matte medium (at least 8oz)
- 9×12-inch canvas boards (4 quantity)
- ½ inch, 1-inch and 2-inch bright acrylic brushes
- #2 and #6 round acrylic brushes
- Blue painter’s tape
- Palette knife
- Container (for water and to clean brushes)
- HB pencil
- Ruler
- #1 liner brush(1quantity) and #4 flat Acrylic Brushes (1quantity)
- 24×30-inch canvas boards (2 quantity)
