At Allens Lane Art Center, we have 4 core programs that allow almost everyone to get engaged with the arts: Classes, Gallery, Camp and Theater. Whether you're just starting out and think you might like to try your hand at making art, have children that need a summer to remember, are interested in meeting some of the best artists in our region, or if you're in love with watching your favorite plays come to life, each season we work hard to make a lineup of interesting programs just for you.
We welcomes campers from all over the area, ages 5 - 13, to come and join in the fun for just one week or all eight. Campers get expert level instruction in both the theater and visual arts.
We've got classes for beginners, intermediate and advanced children, teens and adults.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, in-person classes will be limited and will require new safety measures. Many classes will also be offered as a streamed version (via Zoom).
The Carolyn and Howard Alber Gallery, which normally mounts exhibits by area artists from a wide variety of media including painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, photography, woodworking, book arts, jewelry, crafts, ceramics and more, will go dark for the 2020-21 season. To replace this, the center is currently working on a streamed artist interview program called ArtShow that will be produced within the gallery space for the season.
Allens Lane Theater will have a number of new programs for the 2020-21 Season that will be offered in-person (if pandemic guidelines allow) as well as streamed events. Aside from our four main-stage theatrical productions, the Center has created three new programs: Children's Theater, Community Voices and a Readers Theater.
