DANCE CLASSES

Pre-Ballet - Registration Closed

Ages: 5-6
Time: Saturdays / 10:00-10:45 am
8 Weeks: Sept 18th to Nov 13th (no class Oct 23rd)
Cost: $85
Ballet, with its graceful and elegant approach to movement, is great for posture, confidence, and coordination. Ballet classes will teach classical ballet terminology, Barre exercises, center floor, stretches, and across the floor progressions. Ballet builds strong focus and discipline and will be approached in a fun and creative way in class.

Junior Jazz Fusion - Registration Closed

Day/Time: Tuesdays / 4:30 – 5:30 pm
8 Weeks: Sept 21st to Nov 9th

Jazz is an exhilarating dance form, full of rhythmic exploration, clear isolations of the body,  grounded movement and high energy. Jazz dance often seen in many Popular tv dance completions, Broadway, and many other facets of entertainment, is based in African dance and jazz music foundations and has expanded into a vibrant array of subcategories. A fusion of jazz styles and technique will be taught in this class. Come ready to have a great time learning jazz technique and dance your heart out!

Intro To Improv
Instructor: Toto Dobbs
Ages: 10-11
Day/Time: Saturdays, 10:30am-11:30am
4 Weeks: October 9- October 30
Cost: $60

Join us for an Improv class that will help your child gain confidence on stage while having a ton of fun. In this class, students will use their bodies and voices to express themselves and make strong choices, all while thinking on their feet. Improv is perfect for all students, whether they want to pursue theatre more seriously, or just want to have a laugh.

 

Intro To Improv

Unarmed Stage Combat
Instructor: Oliver Donahue
Ages: 14-18 (Grades 9-12)
Day/Time: Saturdays, 1:30pm-3:00pm
Session 1:  October 9 & 16
Session 2: November 6 & 13
Cost per session: $45

An introduction into the skills, techniques, and language used to safely and convincingly perform a staged fight with no weapons but their bare hands. Students will learn the specifics of how and why fights are choreographed, and best practices for keeping themselves, their scene partners, and the audience safe while performing violence.

No Fear Shakespeare
Instructor: Shannon Hill
Ages: 16+
Day/Time: Tuesdays, 7pm-9pm
VIRTUAL CLASS on ZOOM
4 Weeks: October 5-26
Cost: $80

Shakespeare can seem intimidating, even to the most seasoned actor. Philly based actor and director Shannon Hill will guide students through an approachable method to performing the Bard. Using Shakespearean monologues as the foundation, students will tackle some of the English language's most famous words through text analysis, historical context, and acting techniques. All the world's a stage!

 

Preparing for An Audition- Leaving an Impression!
Instructor: Robert Bauer
Ages: 18+
Day/Time: Wednesdays, 7pm-9pm
VIRTUAL CLASS on ZOOM
4 Weeks: October 6-27
Cost: $80

Philadelphia Director Robert Bauer, will work with actors on monologues and scenes to prepare you for future auditions. This class is ideal for less experienced actors, so you can learn about what to expect at an audition and how to select material to audition with that will help you land the part!

Vocal Techniques
Instructor: Patrick Poole
Ages: 16+
Day/Time: Wednesdays, 7pm-8pm
6 Weeks: October 6- November 10
Cost: $100

Help your voice meet the moment, whether that's onstage, in the classroom, or at work. This class will guide you through exercises, techniques, and information to lead to a more connected and healthy voice. Together we will focus on the foundations of the voice, how it's produced, and what habits we have that get in the way of our right to speak.
