Watercolor Fundamentals

Class Description: Step into the wonderful world of watercolors with a master of the medium, Sara Steele.
Geared towards beginners, this class will introduce students to the fundamentals of this medium.  During the course, you’ll be exposed to several techniques for creating beautiful watercolors, even if you’ve never tried painting before. Sessions will begin with a demo followed by time to experiment, paint and have fun while practicing valuable lessons on watercolor tools, color mixing, and composition.  By the end of 6 weeks, you’ll feel comfortable with the basics, setting you up for learning more advanced watercolor techniques.

About the Instructor:  Watercolorist Sara Steele has been exhibiting her paintings professionally since 1974. Her work has been in over sixty solo shows and countless invitational, juried, and group exhibitions. Her pieces are included in over two hundred private and public collections, and during her career, she has received numerous grants and awards. Steele’s work was first published in 1979; since that time, it’s been published in two monographs (1994 and 2005) as well as on hundreds of products, including her nationally distributed wall calendar, now in its 43rd edition.
