A Leadership Transition at Allens Lane

A Fond Farewell to Vita Litvak
After three years of dedicated leadership, Vita Litvak will be stepping down as Executive Director of Allens Lane Art Center to begin a new chapter out of state. During her tenure, Vita strengthened programs, deepened community connections, and guided the Center through a period of growth and creativity.
“Thank you for the honor and opportunity to serve our great neighborhood in Northwest Philadelphia,” said Vita Litvak. “As I begin a new chapter, my heart is full of gratitude for your trust and for all that this community has taught me.”
Welcoming Michael Williamson
We are pleased to welcome Michael Williamson as Interim Executive Director. Michael brings decades of experience as an educator and arts leader, including a long tenure at Germantown Friends School. He also has deep personal ties to the community, having grown up in Mt. Airy and attended Allens Lane programs as a youth.
“I am thrilled to join Allens Lane as Interim Executive Director and to support the talented artists, educators, and students who make this community so vibrant,” said Michael Williamson. “I am excited to help continue its legacy while learning from and working alongside this remarkable team.”
A Message from the Board
“Building on Vita’s incredible work over the past three years and Allens Lane’s 72-year legacy, Michael brings a wealth of experience, steady leadership, and a passion for the arts,” said Susan Matyas, Board President. “We are confident that under his leadership, our programs and mission will continue to thrive.”
Looking Ahead
We are grateful to our staff, educators, artists, students, and community members who make Allens Lane a vibrant cultural home. Together, we look forward to continuing to bring transformative and joyful experiences in the arts to our community for years to come.
