Creative Internship Training (CIT) in Summer Art Camp
For High School Students (Ages 14-16)
Want to spend your summer creating, learning, and getting paid? 🌟 The Creative Internship Training (CIT) Program at Allens Lane Art Center is an exciting opportunity for teens to build leadership skills, work with artists, and explore creative careers—all while making a real impact at our Summer Art Camp!
As a CIT, you’ll assist campers, get hands-on experience in either Art Education or Media Arts, and develop a creative project to showcase at the end of your session. Plus, you’ll earn a $150 weekly stipend and 20 volunteer hours for school credit!

💰 Pay: $150 per week ($600 total for 4 weeks)
🕒 Volunteer Hours: 20 total (for school credit!)

Allens Lane Art Center, 601 W. Allens Lane, Philadelphia, PA 19119
from June 23rd -August 15th, 8:30a -4:00p
📅 Pick Your Session:
- Session 1: June 23 – July 18
- Session 2: July 21 – August 15
You must commit to all four weeks of the session you choose.
What You’ll Do:
All CITs will:
✅ Assist with camper age groups, helping with transitions, bathroom/wiggle breaks, lunch, and pick-up/drop-off.
✅ Help set up and organize classrooms & camp activities.
✅ Lead the Friday Summer Showcase, where campers present their creative work.
✅ Work on an independent creative project based on the pathway you choose.
Choose Your Creative Pathway
- The Mentorship Studio (Art Education) 🖌✨ For teens who love teaching, mentoring, and sharing creativity!
🔹 Learn from Teaching Artists & Camp Leaders about classroom engagement and lesson planning.
🔹 Assist in guiding campers through daily art projects.
🔹 Create and teach a mini-art lesson for campers on Friday Art-Making Corners or Field Days.
🔹 Gain hands-on experience in leading activities and working with young artists.
🎯 End Project: “The Young Artists Experience”
✔ Design and teach a fun, 10–15 minute creative activity for campers.
✔ Develop a lesson plan and prepare materials.
✔ Document your experience with photos, a reflection, or a short instructional video.
✨ Bonus: Want to make an impact? Create a video tutorial of your lesson for future CITs & social media!
- The Content Lab (Media Arts & Communication) 📸🎬 For teens who love photography, social media, and digital storytelling!
🔹 Capture fun camp moments through photos & videos.
🔹 Help run social media challenges, behind-the-scenes footage, and interviews.
🔹 Work with the Communications Manager & Camp Leaders to build a weekly content campaign.
🔹 Edit and create a final highlight video showcasing the best of summer camp!
🎯 End Project: “The Summer Storytelling Series”
✔ Develop a weekly social media campaign (ex: “A Day in the Life” video or staff/camper interviews).
✔ Produce a final highlight video summarizing the summer camp experience.
✔ Create a recap slideshow or digital gallery for the end-of-summer celebration.
✨ Bonus: Want to show off your skills? Be part of a CIT Instagram Takeover Day and share a behind-the-scenes look at camp!
