Instructor: Josh Hitchens

Josh Hitchens as been associated with Allens Lane Art Center since 2011 and became Theater Artistic Director in 2021. At Allens Lane, he has directed Vinegar Tom, The Seagull, And Then There Were None, The Grapes of Wrath, The Weir, The Secretaries, and The Beauty Queen of Leenane. Josh has also written and performed acclaimed solo plays, including The Confession of Jeffrey Dahmer, Stoker’s Dracula, A Christmas Carol, The Picture of Dorian Gray, and the autobiographical Ghost Stories. His other credits as a playwright include adaptations of Little Women, Anne of Green Gables, and Agatha Christie’s The Mysterious Affair at Styles. In addition to his work as a theater director, actor, playwright, and teaching artist, Josh is also the author of two books published by The History Press: Haunted History of Delaware and Haunted History of Philadelphia. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Acting from Arcadia University.
