Mt. Airy Arts Festival
FREE EVENT

September 28th, 2024 12-4pm

We are so excited to announce that in partnership with WMAN we will be hosting our 2nd Annual Mt. Airy Arts Festival, on September 28th! At this year’s Mt. Airy Arts Festival, discover new art-making stations in a variety of media including painting, printmaking, fiber arts, ceramic, sculpture, nature art, drumming, cyanotypes, and for the young and young at heart chalk painting, swirl painting, Gelli printing, mask-making, fan-making, community quilting and music and creative movement for young learners.

Check out a variety of performances on our outdoor stage, shop at the art market with local artist vendors, sample delicious food and ice cream from our guest food trucks, enjoy a variety of fun games, and check out a surprise exhibition in our galleries 

These activities at the festival reflect the diverse offerings provided year-round by the Allens Lane Art Center. For over 71 years, the Center has provided access to the arts for all who wish to share, learn, exhibit, and perform. This year we are asking for your support! By donating to this year’s festival, you are providing free art experiences to all who attend. Please make your contribution today! 

 

Call For Artists Vendors

Showcase your artwork at this year’s Mt. Airy Arts Festival! To participate please apply by July 1st in the link below.

Guidelines:

Due Date: July 1st. 

Vendor Fee: $70 Vendor Fee must be made payable to Allens Lane Art Center at the time of acceptance. We will waive the fee for applicants under the age of 18.

Tent and Table Size: A 10×10-foot space will be provided for your booth. Please make sure that your table and tent are no larger than 10×10 feet.

Jury Process: The vendor applications will be juried by the Festival Committee, made up of Allens Lane Art Center Board members, staff, and students. Submitting an application is not a guarantee of acceptance. Applicants will be notified via email by early July. The decisions of the jury will be final.

Acceptance Criteria:

  • This event is a fine art and craft market. Both fine and functional work will be considered.
  • All work must be the vendor’s original artwork and of professional quality.
  • Work will be judged on originality, craftsmanship, and age appropriateness for young visitors to the event.

Terms:

  • Vendors must commit to September 28th, 12 to 4 pm, the entire duration of the festival.
  • All presented artwork must be for sale.
  • Display materials, signage, and setup are the artist’s responsibility and must be professional in appearance.
  • The vendors are required to stay for the whole duration of the event 12-4 pm.
  • The vendors are responsible for transporting their materials, tables, and display signs to and from the event.
  • Spaces may be shared but will be limited to the size of one space. Both vendors sharing a space must submit images to be considered. Shared spaces will be charged $50 per artist for a total of $100.
  • Vendors must get to the event between 10:00 am – 11:00 am for set up.
  • Parking is available on the grounds of Allens Lane, but is first come first serve.
  • Volunteers will be availble during set-up times to help vendors carry in their materials.

Volunteers for Mt. Airy Arts Festival

Help to make this year’s Festival a great success! You can pitch in a variety of ways and greatly contribute to an awesome, free, community celebration of the arts in Mt. Airy.

Volunteer jobs for the day of the festival vary in duration and responsibilities. You may also choose to volunteer for a few hours, or the entire day. Duties range from setup to assisting artists with their artmaking stations or face painting!
